Baroque and Eroticism

Baroque began during the 1600 in Italy. The differentiations between Baroque and Renaissance is some how divided by a little gap from each other. The Baroque architecture still remains some elements from the Renaissance like symmetry, the rules of the geometric forms. By just taking away the ornamentations of the Baroque architecture we could find the similarity of both style of these two. To understand this easier, I consider Renaissance as modern architecture, which is based on the origin rules of that style. But Baroque is like Post-modern or Expressionism Architecture, which kind of express more emotion and feeling into the work. Baroque architecture focuses on detail more than the Renaissance style. For example, the motions of the fabric, the cloths and the actions of the art, the sculpture in the time of the Baroque. They express more feeling and emotion in their characteristic. More curvature are applied to this period. I can consider Baroque architecture as “Erotic” because by looking from the details and ornamentation of their work. By spending more time looking on their work we start to understand the artwork/ architecture from its detail and by understanding its detail. We can see the emotion and feel how they express their emotion. From these elements I can consider Baroque as “Erotic” art and architecture.
